The WISA MWD announces that they will once again award a R15 000 prize to a bona fide full-time student who delivers the best paper in relation to the field of mine water management at the upcoming WISA 2010 conference.

The WISA MWD would like to encourage all bona fide full-time students in the field of mine water management to register to present a paper at the WISA 2010 conference to qualify for this WISA MWD 2010 Student Award.

The candidate should demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of their chosen field of research, a good understanding of the methods of research, an ability to interpret data, present the data in a scientific manner, and to discuss the data in context of the available literature.

The evaluation of the student papers will be conducted by more than one assessor. The presentation of the papers is a very important component and aspects such as presentation & media, oral communication, background and methods, results and discussion, conclusions and recommendations will play a role in the allocation of the award.
